Bitterfeld Field Approach (1)
Bitterfeld, today called "Bittefeld-Wolfen", is a midsize town in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. A town that seems to be in decline and nearly forgotten today. However, Bitterfeld comes with a full load of history - much of it to be discovered again. Remember the "Bitterfelder Weg", a political initiative in 1959/1964 to promote working class people to be artists. Remember the founding of an influential color film industry (in Wolfen) and later a giant chemical industry complex. Remember also the early earthenware and brick industry around Bitterfeld. There's a lot to tell. Let's start exploring!
Lindenstraße in Bitterfeld, on the left you can see an abandoned nice house (former hotel or restaurant). Main station is vis-à-vis of this house (not in pic). March 2015.
